About JindoPark

JindoPark is an independent educational resource for people considering or newly caring for a Jindo or Korean rescue dog outside Korea.

Who I am

I'm based in Korea — an ordinary person with a full-time job who started fostering a Jindo mix rescue dog named Bada on October 30, 2024. I had no idea what I was getting into.

Bada was cautious, observant, and unlike any dog I had read about. He needed time, structure, and patience. By the time I understood him, I had also decided to adopt him permanently.

I document Bada's life on Instagram at @hanbada_1030.

Why I built JindoPark

Many Jindo and Jindo mix dogs in Korean shelters are transported to adopters in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Europe each year — often by people who have never owned a Jindo before and have limited access to practical, honest preparation information.

I built JindoPark because I believe that a prepared adopter gives a rescue dog the best chance at a stable home. The guides on this site are what I wish had existed when I first brought Bada home.

What JindoPark is — and what it is not

JindoPark provides

  • Preparation guides for prospective Jindo and Korean rescue adopters
  • A readiness check based on your lifestyle, home, and experience
  • A first 30 days adjustment framework

JindoPark does not

  • Replace a certified veterinarian or animal behaviorist
  • Operate as a rescue organisation or facilitate adoptions
  • Provide breed-specific medical advice

Every guide on this site includes a disclaimer and, where appropriate, a recommendation to consult a certified professional.

How content is researched

The guides on this site are based on:

  • My direct experience fostering and adopting Bada
  • Shared experiences from the overseas Jindo and Korean rescue dog adopter community
  • Publicly available animal behaviour literature
  • Published guidelines from certified dog trainers (CPDT-KA · CDBC)

I try to distinguish clearly between what is known, what varies by individual dog, and where professional input is required.
